“Tennessee pollution regulators are still issuing permits and holding public hearings on proposed waste dumps despite a suspension of in-person proceedings amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a Knox News review shows.

State attorneys general in 14 states, including Michigan, New York, Virginia and Wisconsin, are asking EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler to rescind the directive and resume pollution enforcement.

Nearly a dozen environmental groups in Tennessee, including the Tennessee Clean Water Network and local Sierra Club groups, sent Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery III a letter earlier this month asking him to do the same.”
